Tasty New Menu Items, Creative New Drinks, Live Music and a Toast to the Royal Wedding!

(Montauk, NY … May 2011) Navy Beach (16 Navy Road, Montauk, NY, 11954, www.navybeach.com, 631-668-6868), dubbed a “perfect destination for summer dining” by The New York Times, will reopen for the 2011 season on Friday, April 29th at 3pm. In honor of the season reopening and the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Navy Beach will offer drink specials on opening weekend including: Pimm’s Cup (British summer drink), sparkling Cava and Saintgria Rosa, all $9.

Montauk’s favorite beachfront restaurant will kick off the 2011 season with a new menu featuring some exciting additions, new cocktail concoctions and live music. Chef Paul LaBue will bring back favorites including the sautéed crab cake; crispy calamari salad; seafood and chips; buttermilk fried chicken; the Navy burger; the prized truffled mac ‘n cheese; and the award winning Montauk clam and corn chowder. New to the menu will be a small plates selection including fish tacos with pico de gallo and lime crema; Yunnan ribs with black vinegar, chili and caramel; and crispy shishito peppers. Joining the creative salads are a tuna sashimi and avocado salad; green papaya salad with shrimp, peanuts, tamarind and long beans; and a new “bacon & egg” salad with braised pork belly, poached egg, frisée and watercress. New large plates will include lobster Singapore with Asian vegetables, crispy rice noodles and chili; coffee rubbed New York strip steak with crispy onions and an ancho chile bourbon sauce; and oil poached halibut with rock shrimp hash, cucumber sambal and sweet soy glaze. LaBue, also a classically trained pastry chef, is introducing a new dessert menu including a peanut butter bomb with cookie crust, chocolate ganache and raspberry puree; white chocolate cheesecake with macadamia nut brittle; and a lemon tartlet with fresh berries. For the little ones there will be a kids menu with the classic favorites and newly introduced kids desserts.

The cocktail menu will return with popular libations from the inaugural season such as the Navy Grog, Marganegra and the Southside. Introductions this season will include pitchers of Saintgria Rosa (St. Germain, rosé, fresh peach and strawberries); caipirinha with Leblon cachaça, lime and sugar; Mularusa with vodka, lime, angostura bitters and ginger beer; and a new “#WINNING!” cocktail crafted daily by in-house goddesses and warlocks. An approachable wine list with the majority of selections under $100 will return with great values and some new selections. A wide selection of domestic and imported beers along with some eclectic choices will be offered.

Popular weekend marathon lunches with bottles of rosé and pitchers of Saintgria Rosa will return to the restaurant, situated on a 200-foot private beach. Boaters will be welcomed back to safely anchor in the protected waters of Fort Pond Bay where the Navy once anchored and serviced their fleet, and where two Navy Piers still stand. Live music will add to the festive atmosphere. Scheduled performers include local favorites Nancy Atlas, Joe Delia & Thieves, Telly Karoussos and Dan Bailey & Living Rhythm.

Hours for the season are as follows: April 29 – May 8: Friday – Sunday dinner only on Fridays starting at 5:30 p.m. and lunch on weekends starting at 12 noon and dinner starting at 5:30 p.m.; Beach menu offered between lunch and dinner; May 12 – 30 open Thursday – Sunday; dinner only weekdays and lunch, dinner and beach menu offered on weekends, including Memorial Day Monday; June 1 – 13 open six days for dinner, lunch Friday – Sunday, closed Tuesdays; June 15 open seven days for lunch and dinner.

On Navy Beach

Navy Beach splashed on the Montauk restaurant scene in 2010. “One of the most buzzed about new restaurants and bars in Montauk,” The New York Times, Navy Beach was dubbed a “perfect destination for summer dining” by The New York Times. The brainchild of Frank and Kristina Davis, Franklin Ferguson and Leyla Marchetto, Navy Beach is a laid-back, family-friendly waterfront restaurant offering a memorable dining experience for the whole family in a beach setting with coastal food and breathtaking sunsets. Chef Paul LaBue heads the kitchen delivering a high quality fish centric menu with an emphasis on sustainable seafood and local seasonal produce. Navy Beach is all about location, positioned on a 200-foot private beach in Montauk, Newsday named it on of the top five water view dining spots on the East End. Navy Beach is open for lunch and dinner daily beginning at 12pm.
